Like a tarot card brought to life, Marottes (pronounced ‘muh-rowtz’) embodies the fool's journey guiding the lost and lonely through an adventure of self-discovery and transformation. Driven by shadowy analog synths, distorted vocals, and reflective lyrics, Marottes crafts haunted synthpop by blending electronic darkwave, synthwave and alt electronic that creates a sound that is uniquely his own. His music draws inspiration from gothic art, witchy mysticism, fantasy video games and the forgotten corners of the Great Lakes and Rust Belt. Marottes invites listeners to embrace introspection, transform fear into confidence, and embark on an adventure to dance unapologetically through the darkness.
Marottes is the music project of Mike Mytnick, who returned home to Cleveland, Ohio after a decade of working in TV production in New York and Los Angeles.
